distinctive fabric, fibers of cotton are twisted into parallel lines of ribbing, or cords, creating a unique textile. The "wale" of corduroy refers to the number of parallel ribs per inch. Fat-wale and thin-wale men's corduroy pants are both prevalent, and choosing which to wear is a matter of personal preference.
