5 Looks For Fall

With the long hot days of summer behind us, we begin to prepare our wardrobes for fall. Dark, rich colors and textures such as corduroy and tweed will be very prevalent this autumn. Fortunately, these trends can easily be used in the workplace as business casual and as weekend wear options. Here are four items every gentleman should look for this fall.
Corduroy Pants
After seeing resurgence in 2011, corduroys (or “cords”) are expected to be a staple of men’s fall fashion again this year. Corduroy ridges are an ideal way to experiment with textures this fall.
How To Wear It
Cords are a perfect alternative to denim or khakis for casual events. Pair them with a wool sweater and sportshirt on the weekends or with a blazer for casual Friday’s at the office.
Navy Suit
Darker blues are trending to be one of the most popular colors this autumn. This is an ideal color for business as it is more vibrant than black, yet more conservative than traditional fall colors.
How To Wear It
A dark blue suit provides a great foundation to highlight brighter colors. Use the dark background to complement a lighter blue dress shirt and a gold tie/pocket square.
Leather
Leather menswear apparel & accessories made a comeback last year and will be popular again this year. Expect to see plenty of leather overcoats/ jackets, shoes, & gloves.
How To Wear It
Keep it simple. If you want to wear leather this fall invest in the classic leather jacket or bomber. For a more stylish yet comfortable look, wear the leather jacket over your favorite sportshirt with a light colored pair of casual pants.
Plaid Ties
You’ve probably noticed plaid is quickly becoming one of the most popular tie patterns this year. Introduce a few plaid ties to diversify your collection this fall.
How To Wear It
Plaid ties are a great way to incorporate popular fall colors like dark blue, black and brown into your business attire. These colors can be emphasized by a white dress shirt and a darker suit or sportcoat.
Dark Gray Sportcoat/Blazer
Fall is a great opportunity to don darker colors. A charcoal or dark gray sportcoat provides a sense of maturity and sophistication.
How To Wear It
Sportcoats can be used for both business and casual situations. Pair a dark gray sportcoat with navy pants (another popular fall color) and white/navy gingham shirt for casual occasions. You could also add a dark red tie for a more professional look.
