James Bond Style: How to Dress like 007

As gentlemen, we take immense pride in our appearance. What we wear speaks volumes about how we perceive ourselves and how we want to be perceived. Optimistic. Authoritative. Discerning. The list goes on. That said, recognizing that our clothes and shoes shape our story is just the first step. The next step is taking control of that story.
James Bond is not only in control of his story, but also his destiny. Yet it's not what he does that transfixes us, it's how he does it. It's his style.
Simply put, Bond is more than a man. He's an attitude, an enigma with an incredible roundhouse. Moreover, there's no doubt that ever since Ian Fleming created the British Secret Service agent, 007 has been at the top of his wardrobe game. His innate fashion sense is something many of us can only dream about. While we'd never suggest replicating Bond's death-defying car chases or spectacular fights with henchmen, we're all for emulating his fashion prowess.
For the release of the new 007 film, Spectre, we take a look at Bond's fashion M.O.
Well-Cut Suits
Bond is known for his tuxedos, but that's not all he wears. He's undoubtedly an aficionado of striped suits. He doesn't limit himself to basic stripes. He also wears rope stripes, track stripes, bead stripes, and shadow stripes.
Bond's suits always fit perfectly. If you're in the market to buy a suit and won't settle for anything less than a perfect fit, come into a nearby JoS. A. Bank store for a fitting. If you'd prefer to rent formalwear, make an appointment with one of our formalwear consultants or come to one of our tuxedo rental stores.
Blues, blacks, grays, browns
As a rule, 007's style is rarely about showcasing bright colors. Except for when he's on a beach and might slip into a tropical print button-up shirt, he otherwise dons elegant blue, black, and gray suits and shirts. Think classic colors. For example, throughout Casino Royale, he wore gray T-shirts and blue polo shirts. Also, in different scenes in SkyFall, he wore a black v-neck pullover, gray trousers, a brown sports jacket, and a navy peacoat.
Crisp white dress shirts
Bond has never settled for any old white shirt. His white shirts are always pressed and immaculately tailored. If you're after understated elegance, remember that an excellent white shirt goes with everything.
Dressed to kill
Bond isn't afraid to augment his appearance. In addition to money clips, cufflinks, sunglasses, and pocket squares, he's got a thing for leather — leather suitcases, passport covers, and coat wallets.
Now that you're more in touch with your inner 007, get your Bond attire game on. Exude confidence and prowess in spades. All the better to infuriate you enemies (business rivals, evil geniuses, villainous organizations, etc.).
