Comments about Jos. A. Bank Executive Wool Peacoat:
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the coat. I can't speak to longevity yet, but the feel of it is of higher quality than I expected for the price. It is definitely tailored and narrow at the waist, but that's how double breasted coats are supposed to fit and these are back in style. You're probably a size down from whatever you normally wear if you have an athletic build. I've never bought a small anything, but tried on the small in the store. It probably could have worked but I ended up going with the medium. I'm 5'9, 172 and wear a 42 jacket (43" chest, 34" waist.) It's perfect since I'll be layering. Wish it had an interior chest pocket for my wallet. Other than that this is a really nice coat and a good value.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Coat has a beautiful cut!
This coat looks stunning on it. It is tailored and has a very sleek fitted look. The shoulders are wide narrowing to a slim waist. This coat does run big. I bought this for my son who is 5'8" who works out quite a bit so he has a big chest. The medium fit well in the chest, but the rest of the coat hung on him. Ordered the small and it fit him well. Due to his build I moved the buttons over a half inch but it is not noticeable. Would have given it a 5 stars if it weren't for the the button move. The charcoal is a great shade and I bought 3 cashmere scarves to go with it. It really is a sharp looking coat and my son loves the way it looks as it shows off his great build.

from Hayward, CA
I used the peacoat during my week vacation in New York City last 2013 New Year. It is very stylish and looks very expensive (for the regular price, yes it is expensive). It can be worn day and night. Warmth and fit comes comfortably. The buttons that holds the suit got broken along the trip, in the 5th day. Though there are 3 or 4 extra buttons tailored on the coat, I wish the buttons are much stronger especially worn for the first time. And as I am writing tis review, I'm done sewing a new button. I'm just worried that I may not have enough buttons in the future. I just thought that the sizing between small and medium has a big difference. I'm 5'8" 160 lbs and the peacoat with 2 layers fit me exactly at small size. I ordered online with medium size and when it arrived, the size was bigger than I expected. If there's only 4 1/2 stars or a 99% rating I would rate it that way. But since there is a small miss in the sizing & buttons, I rate this less than the perfect score.
