There are a few options here:
1.) Depending on what styles you would like, youcan order the coat and pant from our Suit Separates assortment. Separates offers many of the same core styles in Executive, Traveler, Signature, and Signature Gold as nested does. By going with separates, you can get a 40L jacket and a 36L pant.
2.) You can try ordering a 41L suit which would have a 35L pant. This way the pant would be easy to let out to a 36L, and if needed, the jacket could be easily taken in a bit, closer to a 40L.
We do not recommend letting a 34 pant out to a 36, as there is not enough fabric in the seat to do this alteration well. At most, on a regular fit suit, 1 1/2" is what can be let out. Anything beyond that greatly alters the look and drape of the pant. Thank you for your question.
