A quick fix for tie stains
from Washington, D.C.
Comments about Jos. A. Bank Silk and Clean:
This is a product I use on tie stains. For some stains it has worked well; for others it just smudged the stain. So more of a quick fix for tie stains, not a cure-all.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not effective for me.
I attempted to use these for older stains, and they did nothing more than leave a "water mark".Likely effective on new stains, and packaged to keep one with you to use the moment there is is need.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Used this to get a small food grease stain off of a favorite tie. When you dab it on your spot, it soaks in heavily and you get a little worried, but when cleaning fluid evaporates, so does your stain! Already paid for itself. Now, I always carry one in my briefcase.

I take this to funerals with me. It doesn't just work on ties it also works on suits. When women hug they leave behind makeup on your suit. This takes the makeup off your suit. It's like having a dry cleaner in your pocket.

that are great about it
A great cleaner
I had spilled spaghetti sauce on a new merino wool orange sweater from Jos. A Bank, and had not worn it in a year. I used the Silk and clean (just rubbing in a circular motion) and it ALL came out.No $5 cleaning bill! (And then they would have posted a note saying "We tried and tried but the stain would not come out.") Truthfully it works!

prompt delivery. The product is great. I even used it to remove a stain from a cashmere sweater that nothing else would touch.
This product really worked.
I had bought some beautiful Hermes ties and they had had various stains. This product removed most of them without leaving a ring or removing the color. It really works. But, you have to work fast as the little pads dry quickly. They seem expensive. However, compared to the price of having the whole tie cleaned, and possibly ruined, the price was a bargain.
will definitely buy this product again

bought this to use on a tie that had a stain from italian dressing. it worked great.
Better than expected.

I tried this product on a stubborn stain (toothpaste) on one of my favorite silk ties. It removed most of the stain without compromising the silk fabric. Not perfect, but acceptable. I would recommend keeping one of these cleaning packets in your briefcase for the unexpected stain; a few drops of salad dressing for instance. It would probably be just what you need for a small stain emergency.
Wow, this is amazing.
This product saved a number of my ties. It easily removed a number of different stains, and left the ties looking brand new. I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone.
It Really Works!

I've never had good luck with a dry cleaner spot cleaning my ties. Usually if I stain I tie, I end up throwing it out. I needed to spend just a few more dollars to get free shipping so I bought this. I tried it on a couple of ties that were previously stained and it did a great job of cleaning the stains. Needless to say, it immediately saved me many times the [$] I spent on the pads.
