Comments about Jos. A. Bank Tubular Braid Casual Belt:
Just received this belt and it is not 1 and 1/4 inch wide as advertised. I was somewhat let down as it measured around 15/16 of an inch.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

As remarked in other reviews, this belt is tightly braided with no holes, so every time you buckle it, the strands get scratched by the pin. Eventually, one or two strands just break and the belt falls apart. Mine last barely one year of mostly warm seasons' use. Too bad.
VERY dark brown

Good quality and excellent value (bought on sale) but the actual product is very dark brown, noticeably darker than the photo indicated. The stock number on the tag was correct, though, and one can tell it is brown in color if one looks closely but to the casual observer it appears nearly black in color. Would recommend only because of quality and value.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It is good looking AND it keeps my pants up!
This belt is beautifully made, however, it has no holes for the buckle. We figured out that you can put the buckle thingy through the weave but it seems it should have designated holes. Other than that, my husband loves the belt.

Not One Piece
from New York
Good quality woven belts should be one piece and this is advertised as such. But it's actually cheaply made with a leather "cap" sewn on the end. It's going back today.

Runs long...36 is almost 38.
My weight varies often so I needed a belt of this type where I have unlimited eyelets.

Just as online descriptions described.
Very Difficult To Buckle
from DS, LA
This belt is very difficult to buckle because there are no holes woven into the centers like some that I have had. You have to work to get the prong to go into the weave of the belt and it is NOT VERY easy! The prong is more squared and not smooth, so it just is very difficult to feed it through the weave. Wore it once and it is starting to make a jagged or scraped area where I had to force it through the weave! Taking It BACK!!!

I buy a lot of my clothes from Jos A Banks. This order included a braided belt, something I've purchased a few other times from them before. Perhaps I ordered a different belt than before, or perhaps they changed suppliers, but I am quite disappointed in this one. This time, the belt did not have any holes to secure with the buckle. Without the holes, it is very difficult to put the prong through the belt as the weaving is quite tight. When I do get the prong through the belt, it is often not centered. The belt itself looks fine. I suspect it is not as well made as the others bought before. It is lighter in weight and feels flimsy. I am also certain that by forcing the prong through the weave will eventually damage the belt itself. So, while I am still very happy with Jos A Banks and will continue to buy from them, my feedback is that they should take a close look at and possibly replace this product from their selection. The product only gets one star. I throw in the extra one for my overall experience with the company.
Excellent quality leather; great for casual or business casual attire...
This is a well-made, comfortable belt.

a bit disappointed
from Evanston, IL
The belt is lovely. Nice shade of brown, and nice leather. But the weave of the tubes is very tight and difficult to work the tip of the buckle through to hold it. Maybe it will take some time to work in a hole, but I was expecting it to be more "user-friendly" right away
Quality significantly reduced since 2010
from Elburn, IL
The thickness and overall feel of high quality is significantly LESS than the same belt purchased from Jos. A. Bank in 2010 at the same price. I feel like I have been given a cheaper lower quality belt at the price of a premium belt. Shame on you for that. If you want to sell a lower quality belt why not lower the price. I probably will not buy online with you anymore to avoid a surprise like this one.

The "brown" belt color is so dark it looks almost black, too dark to wear with brown shoes.
Nice quality belts, correct size.
